Thursday Doors of the Round Kind

This is my first entry into the Thursday Door challenge. I thought I’d start with some pictures from Hobbiton in New Zealand. Let me know what you think.

The Hobbiton movie set was all dismantled after the Lord of the Rings trilogy was filmed. It had to be rebuilt for the Hobbit trilogy and is now preserved for all to visit.

    1. Only a few would actually open. Bag End was decorated inside as if there was a full room behind the door so that exterior shots would match the actual indoor set they created off site.

Perspective was used to make Gandalf seem taller (by placing him in front of smaller doors) and to make the Hobbits seem smaller (by placing them in front of the bigger doors).

Peter Jackson is a very talented film maker.

    1. I am a big fan as well. Read the Lord of the Rings to my kids back in the 1980’s. Two or three chapters every Sunday evening. They are all excellent readers now.
