During my recent trip to Valencia, Spain, I was overwhelmed by the fantastic architecture created by Santiago Calatrava. After the great flood in 1957, the river through Valencia was diverted and the riverbed turned into a miles long green way. The three main buildings fronted by pools of water were:
The Principe Felipe Science Museum
The ‘Hemesferic’ Planetarium
The Reina Sofia Arts Palace
It is like you are transported into the future. Imagine what the ancient Phoenicians would think if they saw these buildings when they first visited Spain thousands of years ago.
amazing buildings!

Thank you. They are amazing, especially when juxtaposed with the walls of the old center city. This is one of my favorite stops in Europe.

Have you been inside? Is it as amazing as on the outside?

Unfortunately, no. We were on a tour from our cruise. You can check out what we did do on our banner day in Valencia right here: https://charlesewaugh.com/2016/04/27/spanish-cruise-day-2-valencia/
