Thursday Doors – May 26, 2016

This is my front door. I am using Thursday Doors to give my followers a sense of my house and home. All but one of these pictures were taken yesterday in early morning light. Let’s start with my European style front door:

Now let’s back up a bit to get a sense of my front yard. There are several views:

Next will be my main garage door on the side of the house (and yes, there is a second garage door in the back). The bushes under the window are the Japanese Ligustrum that I recently used as my flower of the day at

Next is a view of the back of the house from our second driveway followed by the back garage door, the door to our walk out basement, and the door to our screened in porch:

Next is a picture of our front garden that was redone just one year ago along with an individual shot of one of the variegated spider plants in the morning sunlight:

Finally, a picture of our deck from the door looking out. This picture was taken in April of 2011:

Welcome to the doors in my world. I hope you enjoyed this little tour.

  1. Oh my godness ! Your house is so beautiful! Your door is just the most inviting door EVER! The area looks very nice too. Beautiful Beautiful house ! πŸ™‚

  2. I never knew there was such a concept as “European style”. As a European I perceive no common style in architecture, on the contrary! But looking at Norm’s photos, I often think. “This could be somewhere in Europe!”

    1. The downstairs has two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a family room that is perfect for guests who like privacy. My wife and I live on the main level. Let me know when you will be in the area.

  3. That main door is lovely. My second favourite is the back garage door; the hardware gives it the look of an old carriage house door.
A lovely place but I’m sure glad I don’t have to cut all of that grass πŸ˜‰
Great post, thanks for sharing πŸ™‚
