Thursday Doors – September 22, 2016

Today we are going to see some very impressive ‘gold’ doors. These doors reside in the Ss. Nicholas, Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Roseland, NJ. You can see some of the windows in this church if you go to my Monday Window post. If you want to check out other blog entries for Thursday Doors, go over to Norm 2.0.

So, let’s get started with the main front door into the church proper:

We have a very tall double door in shiny gold. To the left and right of the main door are two additional gold doors to allow faster egress from the church. Here are close up pictures of the left, center, and right hand doors:

Here are the doors from the inside:

These doors lead into a vestibule. From the vestibule, there are more doors into the church proper:

I have two more pictures of the arches and doors into business offices of the church:

This was a really gorgeous facility and the perfect setting for my daughter’s wedding.

Fast-paced military science fiction, I was very impressed that this is a first novel for Mr. Waugh. The author has really done his homework, as he has worked with many concepts of science, history, anthropology, space travel and military technology in this book. The story “reads” very well, editing is good, I only found 3 or 4 instances where the wrong word was used or misspelled. I really like the chapter structure and the 3 main story lines that are going on (two alien ones, and one human). I can’t wait to get the next installment of this story–hope it comes soon.
