Silence is a Deadly Sound
Silence is a deadly sound,
The boy at play with what he found.
Full attention on his prize,
Something new to feast his eyes.
The mother in the other room,
Distracted by some gloom and doom,
A TV drama that means so much,
She leaves the child so out of touch.
No distraction could be heard,
When pills went down first, second, third.
The boy slides down upon the floor,
His breathing silenced forever more.
Later when the show is done,
The mother looks to find her son,
She calls and calls his name out loud,
Now frantic ’cause he can’t be found.
And then upon discovery,
She melts to floor in misery,
The sobs and wails are long and loud,
Dead son of which she was so proud.
So mind your children carefully,
Their safety must be primary,
A show, a book, a telephone call,
Are not important. Not at all.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Purples
This weeks Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge is to find something purple.
I went back to our trip to Charleston, SC as I remembered a particularly beautiful plant with purple leaves.
I took two photos from different angles. Which one do you like best?

Tuesday Photo Challenge – Human Impact
Very few things have had as much impact from/for humanity as electrical power. Everyone reading this post uses that power or they wouldn’t have access. Every building in the industrialized world runs on electricity. Every television, radio, telephone, computer, refrigerator, kitchen appliance, and every light bulb depend on the electrical grid to function.
Here is the featured image once more, followed by a closer image of one of these imposing electrical towers:

Which way to go today?
A person of extremes,
A smile that truly beams.
To love or just to hate,
It’s really a debate.
Which way to go today?
Who knows? Who can say?
I left, I know I’m right,
I didn’t want to fight,
To much work, not worth the bother,
I can always find another.
Which way to go today?
Who knows? Who can say?
I’ll love you, love me back,
I want a meal, not just a snack,
So just go all the way,
No halfway, here to stay.
Which way to go today?
Who knows? Who can say?
Monday Window – Sept 19, 2016
Here is my Monday Window post. Follow the link to see other posts on this topic.
Saturday I was in Roseland, NJ for my daughter’s wedding. It took place at the Ss. Nicholas, Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. What a beautiful church. What beautiful windows and doors. Today I will show just a few of the windows. There are too many for just a single post.
First, I want to give you a view of this church from a distance:
Here are the windows on the left hand tower:
Here is the Featured Image again showing some of the dome windows:
Here is the dome from the front:
And finally, for today, here is a picture of the dome windows from the inside:
Next Monday, we will explore some other windows from this facility.

One Word Photo Challenge: Cow
Jennifer Nicole Wells runs a weekly One Word Photo Challenge (OWPC) and this weeks challenge word is “Cow”. I call this picture “Black Angus and Guinea Hens”.
The photo was taken at my brother and sister-in-law’s ranch in Texas. Notice that three out of four Black Angus cows are smart enough to get into the shade with the hot Texas sun beating down on the field.

About This Book..
Another fan with a positive review. Thank you so much.
