A Photo a Week Challenge: Cut by a River

This weeks challenge had great appeal to me. The Photo a Week Challenge is hosted by Nancy Merrill Photography and affords great opportunities to showcase some of my favorite photographs. This week, I wish to offer a few pictures from Yellowstone National Park.

Here is my latest Amazon review:

5.0 out of 5 stars You Won’t Believe This is a NU Author…
on August 13, 2016
Fast-paced military science fiction, one of those you won’t want to put down. You simply will not believe that this a first novel for a NU/new author. Remember Andy Weir and “The Martian”? Well, add in the military technology and battles from the likes of David Weber, along with some of the “Ancient Aliens” theories and stories, and you’ll have a good idea of what this book is about.

Summer Morning – NC Style

Morning in North Carolina in the middle of summer can be hot and dry. If you want to maintain a green lawn, you need to water at least every other day. For the really dry spells you need to water every day.

I love the way that the water from the sprinklers catches the morning sun.

I also took this picture of our Crape Myrtle at the same time.

This side of the house is shielded from the morning sun, but gets drenched in sunlight in the afternoons.

Narrow Old World Alleys

There are many Narrow alleyways in most European cities. Here is an example of walking down an alley to our next destination in Malaga, Spain.

Now in the new world (think Puerto Rico) the alleys/roads are not quite so narrow, but two cars would still have difficulty passing each other:

A Photo a Week Challenge: Hats

I just discovered the Photo a Week Challenge run by Nancy Merrill Photography and this weeks topic is hats. Well, I have a set of hats that I keep in my office on top of my book shelf. When I go out to golf, I pick the appropriate hat to match my golfing attire.

The three hats in the featured image are specialty hats. The purple hat has a picture of a nighthawk on the front. This is the mascot of the local high school. The green hat is for the local minor league baseball team, the Greensboro Grasshoppers. The red hat is obvious. My USA hat is worn on most national holidays, like Memorial Day, Independence Day, or Labor Day.

Here is a picture of the top of the entire bookshelf  with a total of 11 hats:

If you look closely, you can actually find out quite a bit about me from what is on the shelves below.
